Dean Cain

Dean Cain - After establishing himself as a talent to watch in episodes of "Life Goes On" (ABC, 1989-1993) and "Beverly Hills 90210" (Fox, 1990-200), actor Dean Cain made his name by donning the red cape for "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (ABC, 1993-97). For several years, opposite co-star Teri Hatcher, Cain made the widely-played role his own. By opting to portray both Superman and Clark Kent as hunky heartthrobs in a contemporary romance, Cain helped pave the way for the mainstream acceptance of comic book superheroes. It did not hurt that he was a good-looking former athlete whose freak knee injury was all that stood in the way of a pro football career. After "Lois & Clark" left the airwaves, Cain receded from the headlines, though he continued to work, hosting a revamped "Ripley's Believe It or Not" (TBS, 1999-2004), exploring his villainous side in the thriller "Out of Time" (2003) and playing the murderous, deceitful Scott Peterson in "The Perfect Husband" (USA, 2004). Since that high profile role, Cain appeared as a regular on "Hope & Faith," (ABC, 2003-06) and played the recurring character of Casey Manning on the hit series, "Las Vegas" (NBC, 2003- ). He had a lead role in the made-for-television disaster epic, "10.5: Apocalypse," (NBC, 2006), then starred in another made-for-TV holiday romance, "A Christmas Wedding," (Lifetime, 2006), and the miniseries, "Final Approach" (Hallmark, 2007). In "September Dawn (2007), his step-father's period drama on the Mountain Meadows Massacre in 1857, Cain had a small, but significant role as Joseph Smith, founder of the controversial Mormon Church. He has also starred in several films, including The Broken Hearts Club (2000) and Bailey's Billion$ (2004) (co-starred Laurie Holden, Jennifer Tilly and Tim Curry). Cain made a return to the Superman franchise, with a special guest role in a seventh season episode of Smallville as the immortal Dr. Curtis Knox, a character based upon the DC Comicsvillain Vandal Savage. He's #33 on VH1's 40 Hottest Hotties of the '90s. Cain has also made an appearance in Internet Explorer 8 commercials. In 2012 Dean starred in the Hallmark movie "Operation Cupcake" along with Kristy Swanson and was a contestant on "The Choice" and most recently in NBC's reality competition series called "Stars Earn Stripes". Neal Adams

Neal Adams - Super Megafest and New England welcomes Neal Adams! “He revived Batman, saved the X-Men, challenged the system and changed comics forever.” –Wizard Magazine “Describe him in one word? Genius.” – Joe Quesada, Editor in Chief, Marvel Comics. “He’s a pivotal figure in the world of comics. He has positively altered the state, the ethical structure of the industry, and always for the better.” --Harlan Ellison “Adams transformed Batman into the sleek, brooding Dark Knight depicted onscreen for the past two decades.” -Brian Lowry -- Variety “Who is the greatest living comic book artist? As I’ve said before, my vote is for Neal Adams”- Geoff Boucher –LA Times
Neal had legendary ‘runs’ on Batman, X-Men, Green Lantern/Green Arrow and Deadman. Adams rescued Batman from the campy TV show, and transformed him into his present, “Avenger of the Night” persona. When people say ‘modern Batman,’ they mean Neal Adams’ Batman. His run led directly to the realistic incarnation seen in “Batman Returns”, and the “The Dark Knight” movies. Neal’s “Batman Odyssey” for DC, (a 13-issue series) is coming out in graphic novel form in the fall, he writing and drawing, The First X-Men, (a 5-issue series), for Marvel, and writing and drawing an epic graphic novel, featuring his own character, “Blood”, that is being serialized in the “Dark Horse Presents” anthology monthly. (A movie deal on “Blood” is soon to be completed).
